As the social component of the Al Manakh Spaces programme, cooking sessions have become a central way of bringing the community together. Building on the Hands in the Soil workshops and a visit to the farm, participants harvested some of the first produce grown at the bio-farm. The natural next step was to come into the kitchen and share meals around it.
Each session invited participants to prepare a dish featuring at least one farm-grown ingredient. These dishes carried personal meaning—whether a cherished family recipe, a meal from one’s homeland, or simply a favourite food. In the process, participants exchanged not just ingredients and cooking techniques, but also cultural traditions of preparation, serving, and sharing.
Over the course of four sessions—including one dedicated to children—the programme sparked dialogue, creativity, and connection through food.
